Transparency
Data & attribution
We believe a directory is only trustworthy if it is transparent about where its data comes from. Here is exactly how KeyAtlas sources, attributes, and maintains its listings.
Where our listings come from
Our listings are derived from public OpenStreetMap data — specifically locksmith businesses tagged in the OpenStreetMap database. We store and display only the public name, address, phone, website, and hours that the source publishes, plus coordinates. We do not collect, generate, or display ratings, reviews, or "verified" badges.
OpenStreetMap attribution (ODbL)
Listing data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and is available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. ODbL is a share-alike license: our derived dataset stays exportable and attributed.
Our provenance policy
- Every listing carries its source, source license, and a last-verified date.
- Business phone numbers are shown exactly as published — never replaced with a tracking number.
- We never fabricate ratings, reviews, prices, or credentials.
- Listings below our publish threshold are not indexed until a city has enough sourced data to be useful.
Current coverage: 507 sourced listings across 48 states (plus DC) and 369 cities.
